About Department:

  • Academic & Departmental Overview
During their first year, students across all programmes undergo a foundational curriculum designed to build core technical competency. The first semester covers Basic Science, Basic Mathematics, and Communication Skills in English, while the second semester progresses into Applied Science, Applied Mathematics, and Professional Communication. To support practical learning and establish a strong technical base, the Department of Science & Humanities maintains state-of-the-art laboratories, including dedicated Physics and Chemistry facilities, alongside a modern Orell Digital Language Lab tailored for oral and written communication skills.
  • Faculty Excellence & Resource Development
The department features a balanced blend of experienced and young faculty. Demonstrating this commitment to higher learning, Dr. Atul D. Watpade (Lecturer in Physics) recently earned his Ph.D. from NIIT, Surat. Many faculty participate in Faculty Development Programmes(FDP), Workshops to keep themselves updated. To further enrich the learning experience, the departmental faculty has developed learning materials for Basic Science, Basic Mathematics, and Communication Skills in English, alongside a specialized tutorial workbook for Mathematics.
  • Student Mentorship & Community Outreach
In collaboration with various departments of the institute, the faculty conducts a structured Induction Program for smooth transition of the first-year students into technical education. Driven by the dedicated mentorship of the mathematics faculty, students consistently achieve perfect scores (100/100) in the MSBTE theory examinations. Additionally, every year the department organizes a seminar for the SSC students for their board exam preparation. Every year Career guidance session is also organized for SSC candidates aspiring to pursue a diploma in technical education and their parents.
